Rococo - Original Oil Painting

$2,950.00

Oil Painting. Oil on Canvas.

This is an original oil painting that was inspired by the traditional artist Alexander Roslin. “Sister in Law and Brothers.” I made some pretty Drastic changes to the original painting by Implementing a completely different face and really darkening up the colors by making it more of a more seductive, sultry, renaissance pre-conservation style painting. The rustic colors of the greens and dark browns and the moodiness in her eyes really brings out this painting. A haunting yet, melancholy look. Perfect for your home and any room. Check out the Ellie Mandy Art YouTube channel to see the beginning phases of this painting. It’s come along way from that video as I did make further changes from 2019 to 2022.

The luminous folds of the gown, rendered with extraordinary precision, contrast against the subdued, atmospheric background, drawing the viewer toward the emotional center of the work: the subject's contemplative gaze. An outstretched hand enters the scene, introducing an element of narrative and ambiguity. Is it an invitation, an expectation, or a decision waiting to be made? The unanswered question transforms the portrait into something far more intimate than a historical study.

Painted in oil on canvas, Rococo explores themes of agency, vulnerability, and the tension between appearance and authenticity. It is a tribute to the women whose stories have often been reduced to ornamentation, reminding us that behind every carefully composed exterior exists a rich and unspoken inner world.
